Weha Steel Carbon Fiber Rodding

Triple-layer rodding material designed to strengthen granite, marble, quartz and other countertop materials.

Weha Steel Carbon Fiber Rodding completely encloses steel within carbon fiber, providing the strength of steel with virtually no chance of rust. Its triple-layer construction combines steel, fiberglass and carbon fiberglass for strength beyond standard steel rodding.

Multiple grooves run along both sides of the rodding to support maximum adhesive contact and create a strong locking bond with the glue. Because the rodding uses true premium-grade, eight-strand fiberglass rather than extruded plastic shaped like rodding, the adhesive bonds directly to the fiberglass.

The rodding comes in a 330-foot roll that fits the Weha Rodding Stand and other manufacturers’ rodding stands. Its rolled format requires less shop storage space than long steel bars and allows fabricators to cut only the amount needed.

Typical Applications

Rodding helps strengthen the structural integrity of granite, marble, engineered stone, quartz, travertine, limestone and other countertop materials. Common installation areas include:

• Areas supported by more flexible substrates
• Other vulnerable countertop sections

If a rodded countertop breaks, the rod helps hold the stone together so it can potentially be repaired with minimal damage. Without rodding, the stone may separate, fall and damage the floor.

Cutting Instructions

Cut the Weha Steel Carbon Fiber Rodding to the required length using bolt cutters, then install it in the prepared rodding channel.
