Product Description
Akemi Flowing Epoxy
Akemi Akepox Flowing Epoxy Adhesives for Stone Fabrication
Akemi epoxy flowing adhesives are professional-grade, 2-component stone bonding systems from the world-famous German manufacturer. Two formulations are available: Akepox 1005 (ultra-low viscosity for deep crack penetration) and Akepox 5000 (standard flowing viscosity with minimal discoloration).
Akepox 5000
Akepox 5000 is a low-viscosity, 2-component filler with only a slight tendency to discolor while remaining easy to color. It is ideal for visible bonding joints indoors and outdoors, inlay and restoration work, filling cracks, embedding reinforcement, and structural repairs. It also offers excellent adhesion on damp stone.
Akepox 1005
Akepox 1005 is an ultra-low-viscosity epoxy engineered for exceptional penetration into fine and deep cracks. It fills small holes while simultaneously finishing the stone surface, making it an excellent choice for reinforcement work and stabilizing fissured slabs during fabrication.
Applications:
- Filling natural fissures and cracks in granite, marble, and quartzite slabs
- Visible bonding joints for indoor and outdoor installations
- Inlay and restoration work
- Embedding reinforcement mesh and rodding on slab backs
- Bonding mitered edges
- Laminating stone to stone or stone to substrate
Both formulations use a 2:1 mixing ratio (resin to hardener) and accept Akemi color pastes for tinting to match surrounding stone.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Akepox 1005 and Akepox 5000?
Akepox 1005 features an ultra-low viscosity that allows it to penetrate fine hairline cracks through capillary action. Akepox 5000 has a slightly higher viscosity that is better suited for visible bonding joints where the adhesive needs to remain in place. Both products mix at a 2:1 ratio and can be tinted using Akemi color pastes.
Can Akemi epoxy be used outdoors?
Yes. Both Akepox 1005 and Akepox 5000 are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. They are commonly used for exterior façade bonding, outdoor inlay work, and restoration of natural stone surfaces exposed to the elements.
Does Akemi flowing epoxy work on damp stone?
Yes. Excellent adhesion on damp stone is one of the key advantages of the Akepox flowing formulations. This makes them ideal for slab repair and reinforcement work where completely drying the stone before bonding is impractical.
